Planyfin ("we", "us", or "our") operates the financial planning application available at planyfin.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

Account information: Your name and email address when you create an account (handled by Clerk).
Financial planning data: Revenue projections, expense data, team information, and other financial inputs you enter into the Service.
QuickBooks data: If you connect your QuickBooks Online account, we retrieve Profit & Loss report data to display actuals alongside your projections. We store OAuth tokens (encrypted) to maintain this connection.
Usage information: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
To save and restore your financial planning data across sessions.
To sync your QuickBooks actuals when you request it.
To send transactional emails related to your account (e.g., sign-in verification).
To respond to support requests.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your financial planning data is stored in a secure, encrypted database hosted on Neon (PostgreSQL). QuickBooks OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption before storage. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. The Service is hosted on Netlify's infrastructure.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties except as required to operate the Service (as listed above) or as required by law.

We use session cookies for authentication purposes (managed by Clerk). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
